My mission is to:
Help clients feel better through
comfortable, relaxing barefoot ashiatsu massage
Meet Jaime Pike, LMBT
Jaime discovered her path to help others through therapeutic massage, by dealing with her personal muscular pain. Through therapeutic massage she found relief from her condition and was so blown away by her own results that she transitioned her entire career and now she is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist helping others with their personal goals from relaxation to getting back to playing tennis.
As an Alamance County and Randolph County native, she is committed to serving all the areas that are better know as her "roots". Helping you achieve your goals is her top priority.
Jaime specializes in Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Cupping + Relaxation. She focuses on the body as a whole and tailors each session to meet the immediate need of the client. BBTM's goal is "Making a difference in the lives of the others."
Jaime serves the Triad, Burlington and Liberty area from her office in Burlington, NC

Why Ashiatsu?

Traditional massage techniques can often fall short in providing a truly therapeutic and healing experience.
Clients either find themselves baring through it when a therapist digs in with a sharp elbow or asking (-but not getting) deep enough pressure to really work out the kinks.
Some often leave their sessions wanting more, feeling that there must be a better way to receive a massage that combines both relaxation and deep therapeutic bodywork.
That's where Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage comes in the picture!
Listen to what my clients are saying:
"I highly recommend Body Balance Therapeutic Massage. I had never had Ashiatsu massage before and I loved it! I love deep tissue massages and this massage exceeded my expectations!!!: Wendy S
Barefoot massage vs Hands-on: why is it worth giving it a try?
What are the benefits of barefoot massage?
1. Deep pressure: The use of our soles allows therapists to apply deeper, broader pressure compared to traditional hand techniques. Hate pokey fingers and elbows but love deep tissue? Then it's for you!
This can be particularly effective for:
- Relieving chronic muscle tension
- Addressing knots in larger muscle groups like the back, glutes, and thighs
Ashiatsu is also highly effective for relaxation.

2. Even distribution of pressure: The broader surface area of the foot can distribute pressure more evenly, potentially reducing discomfort while still providing an intense massage. So it's deep but comfortable. The barefoot massage strokes are long, slow, and can be as deep as you need.
3. Increased circulation: The deep, broad strokes can help improve blood flow and natural lymphatic drainage.
4. Stress relief: Like other forms of massage, it can help reduce stress and promote relaxation.
5. Spinal decompression: The long, gliding strokes along the spine may help create space between vertebrae, potentially alleviating some types of back pain. I'm not allowed to "crack" you on purpose, that would be out of my scope, but sometimes it happens spontaneously.
6. Increased range of motion: The deep work on muscles and fascia can help improve flexibility and range of motion.
7. Efficiency: I can cover larger areas more quickly, therefore allowing a more thorough full-body massage in less time.
8. Customizable pressure: As a skilled barefoot massage practitioner of the modality, I can easily adjust the pressure by shifting my body weight on or off the area of work as needed. This allows for a highly personalized experience.
9. Problem areas relax quickly: The broad surface of the foot engulfs large muscle groups, which makes tension in muscles such as the quads, hamstrings, hips and back dissipate much more quickly. Does it feel amazing? Heck, yeah it does!
10. Less strain on me, the therapist: By using body weight and gravity, I experience less hand and wrist strain compared to traditional massage techniques. This means I can massage for years and years, day after day and not tire out like a traditional hands-on therapist might.
